Same, hope the th-x00 hold up in thrash and help drum work shine.

A great alternative to a new computer sound card is a USB-powered DAC like the AQ Dragonfly. Will greatly improve the sound from any computer.

I have had a dragonfly 1.2 for a couple years. It is excellent and works on PC without installing drivers.

With stock pads the bass can be boomy. Aloha pads fix this imo. The mids are not really recessed, but not the focus and most metal lives in the mids. Two biggest drawbacks I have.

Yeah the HE6 has ruined me. Everything is in such a perfect tuneful balance.
The THX00 is very enjoyable as well just a different presentation of course. THX has a little more bass in everything and not as open and spacious sounding compared to HE6 which Im currently strungout on .

Anyone have any idea how the X00 will fare with a Project Polaris?

Humm, I can drive them with my iPod Touch 5G so you should be OK with the Polaris

My TH-X00 is in transit, but everyone agrees they're easy to drive for a mid-fi headphone. I know the Project amps are very nice, so it will be more than enough power.

In my opinion, the TH-X00 is the perfect complement to a pair of Grado headphones.

So, I got the P series Comply tips for my Piston 3's. This is the fit I was looking for! However, the holes are almost too small to fit over the Piston 3's nipple. It felt like they were going to break as I had to push and twist and push and twist to get them on. The tips do stay on when I pull them out of my ears now!!!
