Can’t afford the abyss, so looks like lcd3 for me. I wonder where the sr3 sits in the list. I personally think it does pretty good!

Are you still getting your new amp first prior to getting the LCD-3? I am still kind of regretting not picking up an LCD-3 a few years back, but I hope you enjoy yours.
I should already have the lcd3 but scammers gonna scam. But yeah I’m getting ahead of myself, amp first. Either LTA velo, or possibly a corda soul.

I had them. Wide stage, no drive. Sold them and don't regret it.
The one that joined the collection is the AKG Q701, but my first impressions I liked the K712 more.

I spent the day on my Grado SR325x paired with my V281 and they really are so good for metal. They produce some of the most natural sounding guitars of all my cans. While they have decent bass, some genres like Doom/Sludge with the down-tuned guitars could benefit from a set of cans that go just a little deeper.

Some of the selections from today include the following.

I'm looking for good cans for death metal, closed back maybe, around 200-300 euros. I will only use sometimes for death metal like Morbid Angel, Obituary. I use every day HD600 almost for general rock music . I was considering Sony MDR-Z7, Meze 99, MSR7B, Denon 5200/7200 (no problem if not closed back). Probably for Denons I have too check second hand market. No demanding headphones please. I listen music on DAP and I have a Graham slee solo amp, many thanks 👍

I would say your best bet it would be Ultrasone Signature Pro. I have one for sale due to the fact that I use almost exclusively iems. I too listen death metal

Hi guys,

Still choosing right pair for me. What do you think?

Senn HD650 or Grado Hemp/325x?

I can have these for similar price...

Listen to heavy metal, rock and classical. My source is Tidal and Onyx Alpha and Hiby R4. Time to time I will use it with my Marantz CD player...

Thank you

I own both and the SR325x is definitely better for metal than the HD650. That is of course, if they are comfortable for you.

I never heard the Hemp, so I cant comment on it.
