Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I already bought em so ah well, but out of curiosity, what are the better home options?

Nice, you will love them I'm sure. I plan on getting them myself for portable use. They are quite small and not the most comfortable for long listening sessions, so for long listening sessions at home you might prefer a ZMF Atticus/Aeolus, Audeze LCD-2C or similar. They all have roughly similar sound signatures and would probably be better for home listening than the portable Cascade.

Oh duh, can't afford any of the others though, £350 for the cascades or £500-600 for some LCD-2s, i wouldve gone for those if i could get em for the same price :)

I know some members here whose opinions I respect like the Cascades. To me they have waaaaaaay too much bass, that bleeds into the mids and can muddy up faster tracks.
That being said I prefer a tight, clean, fast headphone that still packs a punch, which is why im all about ZMF headphones.

YMMV.

I was interested in zmf but they similarly were too out of budget. One day. One day.

You love the Nighthawks. Im guessing you will enjoy the Cascades. When money permits you will probably dig the ZMF Atticus.

So what are the perfect headphones for atmospheric black metal? I’m interested in a pair for home and another for portable use

Various options and various price points would be very helpful also!

I can't find these anywhere
I got in touch with the brand directly. They speak English. I don’t think this brand new “Minor” series is distributed outside of Taiwan yet. There’s a shop page for it now but it’s not translated to English. Same goes for the general product page. International price is $90.

I ran them through the 1-hour run-in program Chord & Major offer, and I’m literally listening to my first three songs on these as I start to type. Excellent first impressions. Basically I feel like these are made to make guitars sound massive, and express their rich harmonics. Everything falls in line to support that objective. More early impressions soon.

Has anyone on this thread tried both the Empyrean and the Verite. Looking for something else to play with and keep going back and forth between those 2. Currently using the TH-900mk2 and LCDx. Being fed by a Mytek Brooklyn Dac+ and an Ifi ican pro. Already love the th900 with this setup but looking for something a bit different to switch it up.

I had both the Empyrean and the Verite Closed for a while. I recently let go of the Empyrean. Both are good for metal, but the VC gets my vote in the end.

O, and if you're considering a Verite, now is the time IMO, as they have the camphor burl limited on sale right now. You can get that type for both the VC and the VO, and I think it looks amazing!
