Headphones for Live Gigs?

So I play in pit orchestras a lot and, recently, we are being run through the house system and we get to keep out amps as monitors just so we can hear ourselves. Well I don't know if it's because of the difference in location or because the keyboard's monitor is so dang loud, but I can't hear myself whatsoever. I need some headphones that are cheap, good for bass, able to function with one ear, and preferably wireless.

Have you considered in ear monitors?

Actually no considering I don't know what that is. I'm open to any ideas. I know I'll encounter this again sooner or later

An in ear monitor (IEM) basically is a mini speaker that fits directly into your ear canal.  They are good at blocking outside noise and often sound very good.  Since you are in need of noise isolation and portability, these might be worth a look for you.

I've researched them and they don't seem like they would work for what I need them for. They need to be able to plug into my amp (I play bass) and be easily managed and robust.
