The HD58X would sound better music/movie wise, then the HD598.
But I've never used my HD58X for FPS gaming, so do not know how good the HD58X is for surround sound, compared to the HD598.

I would go with HD598 or AD700. The AD700 will be better for directional ques due to having a better soundstage imo. This we actually my first two headphones and the AD700 got the most use until I upgraded to K712 and HD700.
