Headphones for Astell&Kerns SP1000?

How do I tell if certain headphones need additional amplification to be used with the sp1000, vs being fine without it?

Any recommendations for absolute best headphones for this that do NOT need additional amp?

Would these work well straight with the SP1000 or would you recommend additional amplification? Thanks.

Its very efficient / easy to drive. Already very great straight to your SP1000. Run it balanced.

Uses the same connectors as HE1000 and HD700 (2.5mm mono) so no problem with aftermarket cables.
