Hello,

I've decided to get myself new headphones, since my 50$+- headphones broke. Budget is 150$ and I mostly listen to electronic for example: DROELOE - Looking Back, Many Words, zzz or something like Zhu Tame Impala - My Life (Away Remix) or KIDSØ - Apart to name a few.

Any recommendation is appreciated.

I don't have a set myself yet.... but from everything I have read it really does seem like the 58X might be the best headphone in the price range. It's supposed to be like getting 9/10ths of an HD660s for 1/3 the price.

I listen to a wide variety of electronic music and I find the HD58x to be a very good all round headphone that should be fine for what you're looking for. As for how they'll sound for the music mentioned, the bass is good enough with pretty good slam and decent extension (unless you're a serious basshead) plus the mids are very good and the treble is also fine. Other than that they are not the best looking pair of headphones and are made primarily from plastic but that aside they are pretty well built.

You can find a used pair of Philips Fidelio X2 for under 150 bucks, which I whole-heartedly recommend for electronic music. They're open and heavy on bass, making them a tight choice for electronic music.

I've also had the Sennheiser HD 518 for some time, which are similar enough to the previously recommended HD 59X to make me not recommend them for your taste, as they have a more neutral and less impactful, "fun" sound. It all boils down to preferences though.
