I thought about whether to post this outside of feedbacks forum, but I am too damn pissed off to let this event to possibly sink into obscurity.

How does he have the balls to paint me, the victim, as a scammer and throw the veil of suspicion over me?

I know that dragging this out from the feedback thread could make me look bad as well, but I am so angry and this is the only form of retaliation I have against him.

I just wanted my experiences to be known.

P.S.>

Now I learned a valuable lesson about PayPal - it will NOT protect you if you done your deal outside of eBay and item arrives not as described (significant damage etc.) Just passing on the knowledge - don't place your hopes on PayPal!

Also when looking at feedbacks focuses on how he/she handles problems and not just transactions where everything has gone smoothly.

P.P.S.>

I'm done with this, not going to post anymore about this, I was left hanging begging for a refund for 2 weeks, I'm going to put it behind me now and won't be visiting this forum for quite a while..... yes I'm freaking traumatized, my trust and good will was spit on and stepped on. Whatever... maybe I'll be back after a few month.

wow, i almost did a deal with mitchb yesterday for some HD580s, glad i looked elsewhere.

He first quoted a really high price, i said no thanks, too expensive, then he sent me another offer that was more expensive, but with a balanced cable???? He was trying way to hard to get rid of these headphones

Did you get photos of the headphones before they shipped? I'm not going to beat you up, but for your sake and everyone else reading this, get photos before you send the money. And if you're selling, it's a good idea to send potential buyers photos even if they don't ask for them.

Meh... this is the same guy who had all that drama after he screwed up the payment to somebody else, and once tried to use one of my threads in the FS forums to sell his own headphones (while the thread was still active). I can't say I'm all that surprised by or doubtful of this thread. :-/

EDIT: I'm referring to mitchb, not the OP.

Yes, to be truthful, this thread is useless without pics. I mean, that could help determine if the damage could possibly have been caused during shipping. But my gut tells me that you got screwed over.

after something like this, will mitchb ever be able to sell anything again? his feedback is forever tarnished. i wonder why people risk it and try to scew people over like this. can we see some pics???

You type this like it could never happen...

I've been scammed for an Xbox360 before. Buyer paid (by Paypal), I shipped next day insured, buyer thanked and left feedback, I left them feedback. The same day they recieved my feedback, they opened a SNAD dispute, sent a broken Xbox back to me, saying that it had failed with the three rings of death.

When I recieved it (and I signed for it

), I realised it wasn't the same xbox. I compared the serial numbers to pictures I had taken before. They were completely different. Paypal didn't care and the scammer got their refund and my Xbox360!

So accusing you of making a switch isn't so far fetched. Also, don't think making a big scene proclaiming your innocence and the sellers dastardly ways somehow gives credence to your story. I see this sort of thing all the time on the eBay forums. Scammers have their scams fail and they whine and moan while looking for a comeback.

I took a look at mitchb's feedback and wouldn't have a problem buying from him at all. Though obviously I would request pictures, I never buy blind in the first place.

Offered me the same cans about a month or two ago when I was looking for 580's. Price was way out of my range.
