Now I was going to buy the Philips X2 but there open back and i'm going to be using these in a car and at school so I don't want them to let in or out sound. So I decided i'd get the V-MODA M-100 since those were my other option (I'd buy with the XL pads) But I heard so review that said they leak sound a bit, Is this true? I'm open to other recommendations but what I want is:

Price: $300 max

Comfort: They dont have to feel like pillows but I want the to be fairly comfortable.

Sound: Good for Dubstep/DnB/EDM/Drumstep etc. I want very clear sound, Without overpowering bass but it's still noticeable.

Portability: They don't have to be very portable but I don't want them to be giant either.

I want them to be closed back and don't need an amp.

This is going to be a HUGE upgrade in headphones because currently I have the Sony MDR V55 which are SO uncomfortable, So I don't really know what I like in headphones very much yet.

And Thats it, Thanks. ^_^

The JVC HA-SZ2000 has a deep booming bass, but it doesn't take too much away from the mids or trebles. For a more tamed sound with a more controlled bass, take a look at the Sennheiser Urbanites, which has a warm sound signature, making bass feel wholesome but not overpowering.

Measurements show the V55s to have a good deal of midbass emphasis:

Would you be happy with more/less bass emphasis than the V55? Would you be happy with more/less sub bass relative to the mid bass?

I would be happy with a little bit more bass emphasis than the V55.

Right now the headphones i'm deciding from are the Sennheiser Urbanite the Sennheiser Momentum (Over Ear) and the V-MODA M100. How are the Urbanites on comfort and sound?

The comfort on the Urbanites is great, super lightweight, ear pads are great, and the headband doesn't have much padding, but you really don't need it, because of how light they are. The sound is really nice, they have a nice controlled bass, wholesome mids, but highs that are kind of rolled off.

The urbanites have a better soundstage than the M-100. The Urbanite XL have a better soundstage than the Urbanite on ears, but they're not as loud, and also the bass on the Urbanite XL breaks up and distorts at higher volumes on some songs, while the Urbanite On ears handles whatever you throw at it without distortion.

  Look into the Soundmagic HP150

+1  Has a nice sub bass boost while remaining solid throughout the frequency range.  Haven't heard the M100 but I was very interested until the HP100/150 came out.  Bought the HP150 and have lost all interest in the M100.  Would save you enough dough to pick up a new <$100 IEM as well.

I recently bought Bose AE headphones and Beyerdynamic 880.
Not happy with either one because not enough bass and comfort issues. I guess my ears are that sensitive. lol
Still searching for one.

What are you powering the 880's with?  Oh, and which version (250 or 600 ohm)?  That's a headphone that's not going to sound its best with a run of the mill headphone jack.
