Just looking at the top left corner of a user. I see junior member, 100+ member etc... When does one achieve headphoneous supremeus? I noticed that some have 6000 plus posts and still have 1000+ member and some with 1500 have HS status

Way back when, when you'd get the contributor status, that froze your title to wherever it was, until changed manually by a mod. Thus, if you contributed at 500 posts, then you would read as a 500+ member forever, unless changed.

Headphoneus Supremus is given at 1500 posts.

It would be nice if, for particularly insightful posts, we got credit for more than one.

At the rate I'm going, I'll hit Headphoneus Supremus in about 73 years.

And Jagwire hit it after 7 hours. People here can recognise a quality post when they see it. Kudos comes from kudos, not the size of your post count. My own post count is disproportional when compared to my actual contributions here, which mainly consist of posting photos of me wearing ugly headphones and a few snippits of generic advice.

Real supremius titles lie in the custom ones that are given to some of the crew here. Thats a real piece of status. Post count counts for very little in my book.

Actually, getting a custom title produced the same weirdo status even more way back then (aka even wayer back then

I think that would be a good idea. I would also like to see less-insightful (Crappy/useless) posts get less credit

Yes that would be nice. posts for basic coversation sake like this one shouldnt be counted for supremus status and great ones talking about audio technology/theories and smart comments should be counted for supremus points. Problem is who would do all that work? too complicated

When I see a poster that I don't know. I look at the join date. A member that has been here for over a year is more likely to know what they are saying, even ignoring post count. If I see a high post count but a recent join date I tend not to listen to them. Many times high post count is inversely related to intelligence, except Jahn, he occasionally has a worthwhile post.

Well that's how you tell whether or not it's really Jahn posting. The real Jahn almost always makes intelligence, worthwhile posts, it's just the Jahn Posting Crew that's responsible for his incredibly large number of filler posts.

I feel the same way about post counts relative to membership age. When I see somebody who's been around a month or so and has several times as many posts as me, I can't help but think they should spend more time listening to headphones rather talking about them.

...So my 2,574 posts don't count cause I lack the title to back them up? Sigh

You know, those posts don't fly out of my butt on their own, it takes everything I have to poot them out!
