Hi there,
I get a used Yamaha hp1 can and think of modding it by making a rosewood cup.
I will post some pics

Here is the inside made with a cnc :

Some updates,

I had some izombe wood and finished my can with hp1 orthodynamic driver,








Just need to put some linseed oil to have a good finish.

Nice work! I like the amphiteather thing you did, instead just ordinary cups. If you are into more complex designs you could make replicas of sony mdr-r10 and jvc dx1000?

yes it's possible to do like this. it has some air space to the drivers.

Hi. I think this looks really awesome. How does it sound? Is it heavy or uncomfortable to wear?

I have an unrelated question, but there's literally no place to ask it, so I'll put it here: how does one start a new thread around here? I've read the so-called tutorial, and it's flat-out wrong. What is going on? Do I need to be on a computer to start a thread? Because I don't have one, I have a cell and a tablet only...my idea is no less awesome than these wooden cups are, but I can't figure out how to start discussing it!

It sounds much better than the stock one.
Better basses, and trebles too. I will put some more pics tomorrow, I have put some wax and it is still wet.
For your problem, I use mobile, and had no issue for creating a new thread. You have to select the category forum first.
