figured i might get the most responses on this board.
i got my rs-1 on ebay and when they came the sound was cutting out because of something wrong with the termination. i emailed grado about it (they recable the rs-1 for $100) and informed the seller about it. he was kind enough to pay me back for half of the recable(which is the price i asked for). but...ever since i got them i have just been placing the cable in 'just the right way' so i could listen to these absolutely amazing headphones. well, now i would like to get them fixed because it has gotten harder to position the cable right, but i don't really want to wait however long grado will take to fix it.
so i was wondering if i could just take them to a shop(hopefully in a place in or around chicago) and have a professional cut off the bad termination and replace it with a new one. does anyone know if i could just take in to like guitar center(for example) or somewhere and have them do it? specifically, if anyone in chicago knows of a really good place to take them, where?
