Should i try a different brand?
In terms of design of the chassis, look into Beyerdynamics. Some of their headphones are metal in all the critical areas, save for the earcups. The headband is wrapped in padding, without the aesthetic plastics that Sennheiser uses. Look into the likes of the DT770, DT880, DT1770, T70, and T70P.
As for sound...well, you have to look up each version of those and see if they sound like what you want.

Just a quick question. That thin Y piece that holds the earcup on is that made of metal or plastic? I've tried to do a quick search but its not so apparent. Also i've never tried closed headphones before i wonder if that would impact it a ton. I do like the fact they are made in Germany.
You mean the gimbals? They're metal even on my (ripped off from Beyer) Superlux HD330, black brushed metal to be exact and look great up close, except for the plastic trim piece that hides the joint between the moving metal parts, as well as contains a label (like the model number) and those bits at the other end that connect to the headphone cup. I didn't test it with a magnet or anything but when my A/C is running the gimbals are a lot colder than the earcups.
Another option are Grados - they have plastic bits but these are easier to disassemble and get replacements for, since they'll keep using basically the same bits for a few generations more, plus a lot of DIY-ers who can basically fabricate every bit of each and just leave a headphone using only the headband frame and the drivers from the original. Of course, the sound isn't guaranteed to be something you'd like.

I also googled the Superlux HD330 wow that is such a rip off. I'm surprised Beyer didn't sue them to kingdom come.
They did I think, but not to get money out of it. They basically just got a court order telling them to knock it off making knock-offs. I just bought it to use with my gaming desktop, as it was cheaper to get that, the Xonar U3, and a cheap desk mic, plus pair of third party earpads designed for the DT770 (the stock ones suck, too thin and too small); plus I came across a review that basically said it was a slightly more comfortable SR60 that also had more bass. Not sure if AKG did the same considering Superlux also had that HD668B.
