Would you like to provide specifics about where and in what context you'll be using these? At home? At work? In the library? In the bus? Walking on the streets (well, some people wear fullsized cans on the streets...)?

You might find the ATs a bit bass-light. For $100-$140, I'd go down the Denon D1001 or MAudio Q40 route for your music preferences.

Q40 for $136.26 at Amazon: Amazon.com: M-Audio Studiophile Q40 Closed-back Dynamic Headphones: Electronics
The cord terminates with a 3.5 mm jack, ennit? Isn't that the case with most headphones? The 1/4 adapter is included separately, right?

I don't know what the AD D1001 k is, but the Denon AH-D1001k is the D1001 in black. D1001k is silver.
