Hello everyone!

I am quite new in headphones (currently own an Ipod and Sennheiser 590). I was really impressed with the clarity of 590's (its better than my current low-fi system) and now I am thinking of building a new system at home mostly for jazz, rock and classical listening. I was thinking of buying the following setup:

1. Rega planet 2000
2. Emmeline HR-2
3. HD-600

Has anyone else around here tried this setup?Do i need to move to HD-600 right away or do you think my HD-590 will be just fine?

Thanks a lot in advance

I use the HD600 (and HD650) together with the HR2 and I think it's great. The HD600 should offer considerable improvement over the 590 but that is an assumption on my part based on readings here; I've never heard the 590.
I've also never heard the Planet but I can tell you that with those other two components, it had better be good! If the source isn't up to snuff with the HR2 you'll know it pretty quick. I think you should upgrade the cans for sure. You won't be sorry.
Good luck.

PS I also own an iPod and sometimes use it in this setup. Depending on the quality of the files, it can sound very good. Make sure use use line out from the dock or a special dock connector-not the headphone out.
PPS Sorry about your wallet. (Traditional Head-FI greeting).

If you value music more than sound, you can't find better source than Rega Planet at that price. beside, there are a couple of them available on audiogon for less than the half of its new retail price.
