What do I mean?

I get into a certain mood where I want to listen with bass heavy headphone and listen to bass heavy music. I want bass.

Then my mood changes. I don't want to hear anything boomy or bass heavy.
I want my music accurate, transparent and controlled. In this phase, I'm all about detail and cleanness of the sound.

Then again, I get into another mood and I'll all into the midrange and got to have it that way and all I listen to is the Grado RS1 and hunger for the AKG's.

Sometimes, I have sold headphones and regretted it because of these mood changes. For example, I got all into the hd800 and it's accurate and lean presentation and sold the ah-d7000. Then got the grado rs1 and got so into the midrange and punchy bass, that I contemplated selling everything else.

Now currently, I got this hankering for bass again and missing the ah-d7000 again.
I realize and learn that I got to keep different headphones for my different moods and needs and stop selling headphones when I'm on one of my other moods. See, I thought I was a "one headphone kind of person, but I guess I'm not anymore. Darn.

Trying to keep my bass needs happy with my jh13pro but I'm missing the ah-d7000.

Variation is the spice of life. Mood and music variation is why I have three full sized headphones with different/contrasting signatures. You can't just have one and be satisfied, IMO of course.

I have several different headphones for that reason. But if I really want bass Ill use my speaker setup with my Velodyne sub. Nothin like a servo 15" in a sealed box.

Funny thing is, I tweak my speakers to the headphone mood.
I go subwoofer light or subwoofer heavy, or eq. the midrange or treble.
My headphones choice dictate how I eq. the speakers system. crazy.

I see headphones on my desk that I have never owned too!!! Oh wait, not schizophrenia in that sense

The only remedy is owning many headphones. Too bad headphones don't dictate what I want to listen to, otherwise I would have one pair
