Well, I had my first headphone related accident last night which I don't want to make a habit of repeating......

I was sitting listening to Santana's "dance of the Rainbow serpent" album through my HD600's and had an insatiable urge to stand up and do air guitar along to "Black magic woman"

Well, I took this one step further (literally) and started dancing about like a crazed madman.... next thing I knew I had tripped on the headphone cord and had fallen head first into a wall.

Fortunately the wall is made from plasterboard and not brick or I'd have been typing this from a hospital bed now..... my head went full force into the wall and the right hand side of my forehead (2 inches up from my right eye) bashed a 4 inch hole out of the wall.

I must confess I was "under the influence" at the time and just got back up and carried on listening..... it was only when I woke up this morning with a 1 inch bump (and a cut) on my head and a throbbing pain that I remembered what had gone down (me like a ton of bricks LOL)

I immediately went to check the HD-600's and, thankfully, they were unharmed.... my head had absorbed the impact and not the 'phones

It's also fortunate that I had the 'phones plugged into a Gmoy which flew across the room with me and the HD-600's..... if it had been a heavier amp I may have damaged the HD-600's cord.

The wall was pretty easy to repair, I built up some layers of fibre glass and finished off with polyfilla.... now I've just got paint the "entire room" as the colour is no longer available from Dulux.

Anyways, no harm done... the headphones are fine and the bump on my head has gone down. Funny thing is I always laugh at these "idiot warnings" on headphone instruction manuals.... "do not listen at high volume levels" "do not bathe with your headphones on" "do not eat your headphones" "warning these headphones may contain traces of nuts" "do not plug your headphones into the mains" etc. etc. etc.

If any of the headphone companies are reading this can you please incorporate "do not listen to headphones under the influence" "do not attempt to air guitar whilst listening to headphones" and "do not attempt a moonwalk whilst wearing headphones"

"Drinking, moonwalking and air guitaring at the same time may lead to another brick being knocked out of the wall"

Well that's my, touchwood, only headphone related accident have any of you guys been involved in a headphone accident?

Yep, before you say it, no wonder Dulux isn't carrying this colour anymore..... here's my repair job, the red arrow points to the "Head-Impact" section of wall and you can see that the epicentre is still in the process of drying out...... the peripheral filling was necessary as my head had caused cracks in the plaster board over a 3 foot section...... all I've got to do now is wait for the polyfilla to dry, sand it flush with the wall, refill it to penetrate the micro gaps and then paint the entire room in a more pleasing colour.

Maybe my "Head-Butt" into the wall was a message from the colour fashion police and a reminder that I need to spend less time on Head-Fi and more time painting my house

I often would fall asleep with some ETY ER6's in. One morning, my girlfriend was leaving to go to work and she gave me a good bye kiss. I sat up to give her a hug and when I did 2 things happened. One my arm came around at a funky angle and smacked her in the shoulder and 2 a loud noise came crashing down beside me. What?

Well, at some point in the night, the cord had gotten wrapped around my under arm in such a manner that when I sat up, it pulled up on my arm like a reverse pully. This action caused the cord to be yanked out of the system, which caused the amp to lose it's balance and crashed into a stack of CD jewel cases and bring the whole thing minus the cd player down. Nothing was damaged though.

My GF just stood there laughing her ass off for a good 2 minutes straight. I can't say I blamed her either.

Moral of the story: cables are evil, and the first one to make comfortable great sounding wireless headphones gets our money

EDIT: I had the same problem of stepping on headphone cable while air guitar "under the influence" as you say, so I know somewhat what im talking about

Maybe "warning the nut between the earpads may cause structural damage..." is more appropriate
