Headphone Recommendations <$250.

Hi guys,
 
So I am planning to buy a headphones, preferably over the ear and also an inline remote to answer calls at a budget of around $250. I usually listen to pop, rock and some easy listening. I was about to buy Sony Prestige MDR-1R but hesitated.
 
 
Will be grateful for recommendations of which I should buy. Thank you

Does the MDR-1R have inline mic?
 
A suggestion i could throw out there is buying a headphone with removable cable that has a 3.5mm jack, and buy a vmoda inline mic cable. Theyre only 10 dollars and built quite well.
 
Some headphone recommendations would be:
 
UE6000 are relatively cheap right now
 
SOL Republic Master Tracks are surprisingly good sounding and quite good for the price
 
vmoda m80 is a classic recommendation and is always a solid pick. I do prefer the master tracks a little more now though
 
NAD Viso HP50 is new and also rly quite good, though it may be beyond your price range unless you find a used one.
 
Sennheiser Momentum over ears is the same case. Quite good but over 250 unless you find a used one.
 
I'm sure I missed some big ones to recommend so id do more research.
 
Are you open to iems at all?

Yes the MDR-1R does come with an inline mic.
 
I am not too fancy of Vmoda M-80's design, so yeah.
 
SOL Republic Master Tracks are good but are they big enough as an over the ear ? Because from pictures it looks small.
 
I am not interested as I already own a Bose MIE2i.

bose in ears a surprisingly good sense of air. but that's all that rly impresses me about them.
 
i have a small head. The tracks are actually too big for me. As in the smallest headband adjustments are actually just a tiny bit too big. For me, the ear pads are large enough to be over ears.Even if they do touch your ears though, theyre fairly comfortable. 
 
You can see if you can try them at best buy!

What do you think of MDR-1R then compared to SOL Republic Master Tracks?

To me, the mdr has more neutral sound quality, not as much bass impact (but still a good amount), with better sense of space and air in the treble. Its a very easy to listen to headphone.

Yeah, the 1r makes itself really hard to dislike. It's aesthetics make a large contribution to that feature.
