Hello,

Noob here
smily_headphones1.gif
lol.

I've had my Shure E2c's for about 26 months now, and in that time I have had to send them back to Shure twice. Both times were the same fault - the plastic wire cover started to crack in the place were they wrap round your ear, which eventually resulted in loss sound in one ear. These were replaced each time by Shure.

Anyway my 3rd pair has now started to do exactly the same, and I don't think they're going to last much longer so I need some new headphones. And unluckily for me they're out the 2 year warranty.
  1. I like the seal I get from the foam sleeves on the E2c.
  2. I've tried some Creative EP-630 and could never get as good a fit as I would with the foam sleeves + E2c's.
  3. My budget is < £70.
  4. I mainly listen to trance.

So what would you recommend? Are the new Shure's any good?

Cheers for any replies in advance.

I've heard great things about the YUIN PK1.

Take a look at them

I highly recommend the Marshmellows as an entry into the in ear type headphone. If I didnt already listen to the Ultimate Ears to compare them to I would have loved them for the price.

I recommend taking a look at the Etymotic ER6i and the Ultimate Ears super.fi 3. The Ety's are a bit over your target price but not much.

Though I have not personally heard the UE's, I have tried the ER6i's and was pretty impressed at the performance for the price. While my ER4P's are clearly better, the ER6i's sound, at least to me, almost as nice.

Cheers for the replies. Just been looking on eBay, I can get the ER6i's for about £37 delivered from America (bargain!

). I can also get the Ultimate Ears super.fi 3 for about £45.

What's the main differences between them? I find the E2c's quite fatiguing and sharp so i'd like something a little more "warm". I listen to quite a lot of fairly bass heavy music so i'd also like a nice bass response.

Also, what tips can be used with ER6i's? I like foam tips as I find me cleaning the rubber all the time because they get oily lol

ER6i sound very nice, not too bright but detailed, they are a bit bass shy though.
