I need an extension cable for my headphones to go from the amp to the cans, so I can have more room to roam when listening to tunes. I am looking for a male to female 1/4" but have no idea where to look or how much to spend. I don't want top of the line, but Wal-Mart and RadioShack are nto preferable either.

Try a Grado extension cable. I have a couple of them and think they're very nice.

He doesn't have any right now, but you can email him or just watch his online listing.
Very high quality cable, much more robust and professionally looking than Grados (which I also have), zero impact on sound when used.

I second the emotion

I had John make me a 5 foot cable for my bedroom set up and I am very happy with it. He will make cables in pretty much any length and he is very responsive. I was previously using a 15 foot Grado cable which was just too long. John's cable is as good, if not better than the Grado and it looks much more robust, but only time will tell on that point.
