Headphone background?

I was just wondering where all of the headphone companies come from.

I start with those I know:
Stax -> Japan
Sony -> Japan
JVC -> Japan
Audio-Technica -> Japan
Sennheiser -> Germany
Beyerdynamic -> Germany
Ultrasone -> Germany
AKG -> Austria
Grado -> USA
Bose -> USA
Koss -> USA

The bigger Beyers are made in Germany, the lesser ones in Taiwan, Senns are coming from either Ireland or China, AKGs from either Austria or China. Stax stuff is certainly entirely made in Japan, and Grados almost exclusively over there in New York, for the rest I can only guess (though at least my KSC-50s were made in China). Where the R&D takes place is another matter.

When I worked at Nakamichi I heard that Grados used the same driver as in the Nak SP-7. It was sources from a Japanese company called "Primo" or something like that.
