Too cheap for your request...I can only thing of a Portable Pimeta in that price range which will delivery the clarity.

GEE ... not asking much are you, top end sound from a bottom end budget ... , don't know anything that fits the bill there ...

You have defined the null set. Would you consider $300+ to get the performance you want?

Yes i would, when the trouble and strife (wife) leaves me. only joking! but i'll take anything. there's always the hope of the future. although they'll be no future for me, if the wife finds out i'm considering buying a $300 headphone amp.

mind you, i spend more on DVD's every year. guess i need to get my priorities right!

O.K. gut thumping bass, with alot of detail. I like my Go-Vibe, don't get me wrong, it does add weight, but i want a bit more detail please.

How about this then?

You can also buy the Mini3 in kit form from Glass Jar Audio (Jeff Roessel) if DIY is appealing and you are willing to learn to solder SMT part (not difficult, but different from regular soldering).

Mini3 Is what you want man. Detail it has and it will give you as much bass as the source puts out. In other words, it's the most accurate amp around $100 unless you can find a good pimenta. I prefer the mini3 to a pimenta though. It's close but I think the mini3 is just cleaner.

For your budget, the mini cubed is the top pick IMO.

While I joined this forum some years ago, to post a quest for a sub 100 dollar amp would be like a joke. I don't know but the humblest amp I can think of, with good performance/price ratio, will cost you for sure a way more than $100.00 to be made in parts and labor alone....is there such a thing released, other than maybe a Cmoy or an RA-1 clone ???

I'm after some HD 650s with a good amp & DAC. My budget is 5p.
