Hello,
First post, long-time lurker. Definitely a noob.

I have a home two channel system that includes:

Sources
- Project Carbon Turntable through Project Tubebox
- Yamaha BD-A1060
- Sonos Connect through Modi Multibit

Schiit Freya Pre-Amp to:
- Vidar Amp to KEF Q300 (SE1)
- Infinity Subwoofer (SE2)

I’d like to add a Headphone amp.

My thought is as follows:
Use the SE going to the subwoofer. So I need an amp w/pre-out capability that mutes the output when headphones are plugged in. Then just turn off the Vidar Amp when using headphones.

Will this work?
If so, what would be a good Headphone Amp / Headphone match for my system?

Is there a better solution that doesn’t duplicate equipment.

Thanks,

Ron

Since a lot of headphone amps have either passive loop outs or the pre is always on I would consider adding a sys. It's cheap and you could use it pre if the HP amp you buy doesn't have outs. If the amp you get does have outs you could use it pre or post headphone amp.

Then you could literally buy anything based on value, performance and your sonic preferences.
