I listen to Rap AND rock evenly. I want headphones that can handle the bass from heavy hitting rap songs but DONT sound like crap when I play "rock-type" songs. I cant stand ear buds.
I want to spend between $100-$300.
Without much research I found both Monster Beats and Skullcandy Skullcrusher (probably because they are both at BestBuy)
Can someone help me out?

Thanks in advance.

I have the Sennheiser IE8s and they handle both of them pretty well. It supplies enough bass for both of those genres of music, instrument separation is well defined, sound stage is one of the largest, however the mids/vocals are a bit recessed. I got mine for $309 shipped. You might also want to look into the Victor HP-FX500.

I would say to either look at the Grado line or the Ultrasone line. Their higher end cans are great for those genres. Grade more so for rock (open design) and the Ultrasones for the bass. (Both are good though)
