Yea Grados/Alessandros are some of the better rock headphones

They are bigger headphones but they sit ON your ear instead of AROUND your ear so they arent as big as some headphones

Yup; the MS-1 are a highly regarded first set of phones that are a good safe bet for all kinds of rock!

...and your English is just fine. Welcome to Head-Fi!

X2. look at other grado line up also i.e. SR60 if you want to save some money. If you can streach a little bit, you might consider DR150, but I don't know how these cans compare to MS-1.

If open is what you want, MS1 or SR60's do well. The MS1 is probably a better option if you have a more varied music collection, since it is not as bright or colored as the SR60.

If you want closed MDRV150 with (and only with) K81DJ pads (which, altogether would be $40) murders all under $50 without a doubt. Even beats the MDRV6. (which is shrill and lacks soundstage in comparison)

I haven't heard much about the Sony MDR V150 yet, so it may be worth looking at, but the MDR V6 has certainly got a lot of discussion!

...I had been thinking of the V6 just to block out the noise of my Grandkids!!

For rock, MS-1 prolly can't be beat. I'd consider KSC75 if you were feeling cheap and noobish... there's lotsa mods that will open you up to the world of hi-fi entertainment.

But, if you want closed cans... you're gonna wanna stick to MDR-V6 for portability and RP-21 for stay-at-home cans, I believe.

Also, FYI, ES7 gets lots more talk around here than ES5.

But I believe it's hard to beat MDR-V6 & KSC75 for first cans. Both can be bought together for less than $100 and opens you up to both worlds of open and closed cans.

If portability is not an issue my rock friends recommend buying a used Marshal top and strap it to your head, its the best for rock guitar.
