did anyone get a chance to listen to them both, possibly A/B them? i wonder if it would be a worthwhile upgrade on my EMU1212M + PPX3 setup. pls feel free to chime in and leave your remarks here

To me interconnect cables are more of a small tweak. I think you'll get more benefits with power conditioning, a power cord for your amp, and possibly changing your tubes and dampening them.

I've tried both and the Blacksilver sounded a bit more open, and slightly more detailed.

lan, i got in on that quail group buy, dunno when it would get there tho... whats this whole power conditioning business? pls clue me in

do you know of any good source of 6cg7 tubes other than ebay? and last but not least does dampening make a difference on ppx3s? thx in advance

I was thinking about something more substantial than the Quail cord.

I don't know much about those tubes. It's probably better to ask those with more experience with tubes and the Singlepower amps. Dampening would generally help tubes which are more microphonic. This adds to the detail in my experience.

As for power conditioning, one of the problems with the AC line is noise. Getting rid of that noise can help in looking deeper into the music. Of course your results may vary depending on your line's conditions but I think that this and things dealing with tubes cast a greater change than just interconnects.

If you can pull off $160 for that cable, you can pull off monster PC1000 for $60 at buy.com, some tube dampeners at herbie's audio lab, and even some more tubes probably.
