Team Mid-Fi. Team Whiskey-Fi. Team Source First. Team Grado. Team Sennheiser.

WHERE DO ALL THESE TEAMS COME FROM?!

But seriously, is this some sort of formalised system, or are people randomly inserting 'Team X' and 'Team Y' into their signatures? I feel like a first-timer at College staring wistfully at all the cool clubs without an idea how to get in

This was one of my first questions. Teams are the most informal things on Head-fi. It's mostly made up, but some of the bigger teams are generally Team [insert equipment brand].

I'll repeat an answer I got from another person: you could be "Team I-don't-know-what-teams-are"

I want to subscribe to Whiskey-Fi. I wonder what their rites of initiation are? Drinking an entire bottle of Glenfidditch 50yrs with a pair of electrostats on, trying not to spill any and electocute myself? Hmmm

*EDIT SIG*

Yeah - I am part of many teams, and while there are not formal - they are a part of who I am.

I am in College -check
I am a Girl - check
I own basically only out of production headphones - check
I go to Northwestern University - double check

Make sure that whatever teams you are a part of are about yourself in the truest sense. I hate those pople who have like 3+ different brand teams.

I cant in all honesty be a part of Team Sennheiser, for while i love my HD600 and am happier with them than anything else i've heard, the RS-1 still has that special Grado magic i'll always love

Or even, the ever popular Team: I put random stuff and/or equipment in my sig, so all the signature elitists should go find something else to make themselves not feel like pathetic losers.
