Hello Friends & Fellow Head-Fi’ers,

To make way for future improvements, we have some server and software upgrades that need to be put in place. To do this, Head-Fi will be put into a read-only mode tomorrow, Saturday, February 1, 2020, for this planned maintenance. This is expected to take roughly 16 hours, based on previous tests — and we are doing all we can to shorten this time.

During this process, Head-Fi’ers will temporarily be unable to update their avatars. We expect that time period (when avatars will not be able to be updated/edited) to last less than 24 hours. You will still be able to read the forums during this time.

We are also changing our gallery platform out of necessity. Because Head-Fi’ers have posted so many photos over the years, the Head-Fi photo galleries will take a large amount of time to be updated, and will be unavailable during this process. Based on our testing, we expect the gallery migration to take around two weeks to process. We know this is less than ideal; but given the huge number of images that have been posted by the members of this community — and the processing that needs to be done to accommodate the transfer of them to a new gallery platform — this is, unfortunately, what we’re faced with.

The Head-Fi team has been working hard for the better part of the last year to make these changes, and we’re finally ready to implement them. Once this has been completed, we can once again focus on site improvements we’ve been planning that we think you’ll enjoy.

Thank you for your patience!

Best Regards,
Jude Mansilla
