Hi my dear friends. I'm using Sennheiser HD 238 and I'm very pleased with them. Now I'm looking for an iem. I usually listen Trance music. I think buy RE0 but I'm in dillemma. They have high quality sound although I don't know are they good for trance. What do you think about them. Or can you advise another iem for trance. In addition I'm not a basshead.I want just deep and clean bass and also clean mids and highs.Thank you very much.

IMO the RE0 should be good as long as you're not a bass head. It's weaknesses are bass weight and isolation, but the bass goes really really low and it's accurate.

First of all a big Hi from fellow Trance,Progressive and EDM fanatic

If you listen to trance just for the kicks and the basslines than most probably the RE-0 won't cut in.You will be better off with a slightly more bassy IEMs .Fischer Audio Eterna could be a better choice there.

If you concentrate more on the different electronic loops, melodies and chopped vocals etc(vocal trance) the RE-0 will make you love the music.Bass is also not a big issue .I use my RE0 coupled with a Fiio E5 amp (with bass boost ON) and the sound is perfect for Trance.(*not as good as the RE-252 that I am in love with it , but then it costs 2X the price*)

Also keep in mind , you will need quality source files with the RE-0.It doesn't show any mercy on those 192/256 kbps Trance radio shows etc.

PL-50 is good but the SQ is not as good as the RE-0.Also wouldn't really recommend PL-50 for Trance .The bass is bit too low and not very accurate ,but the midrange & soundstage is nothing short of amazing for the price .

Haven't heard the NE7M but from what Ive read ,I feel it's sound signature is similar to the RE-2 but with more bass.Should work for electronic genres but again SQ is a few levels below other 70-100$ IEMs.

If you plan to get an amp , I would again recommend trying the RE-0. It gives you a very accurate and transparent presentation of sound .You can hear each and every detail, beat and it surprises you each time you listen to a track. For me using RE-0 has been like rediscovering my music collection.

Do you have any particular budget/price range in mind ? Also what kind of sound signature do you like ?

Dude don't listen to these guys saying that the RE0 bass isn't for you. If you want clean and deep, as well as detailed, the RE0 are it for sub-$100 IEMs... Hell, I think that my RE0+Fuze rig has better bass than my home setup.

^ I second that .Before I got the RE-0 I used to read everywhere that RE-0 are bass shy but I was really surprised when I got them.

The RE-0 provide adequate bass for a non bass head. Its more of like clean, deep and clear bass. The thump and punch is a bit less but you can get that with a Fiio E5's bass boost.(without major alteration of midrange & highs).

I love detailed sound , bass must have enough impact but it have not to close mids and highs because I usually listen vocal trance.

Consider your listening environment. I sampled the S4, ADDIEM and RE0 before deciding. In a quiet environment, I preferred the RE0 and ADDIEM as being far more accurate with bass, rather than the heavier bass of the S4. At work, where I primarily use IEMs, the S4 was the only one that could provide enough bass to not become hidden by some background HVAC noise. As I use the IEMs primarily at work and airplane travel, I was really annoyed by not being able to find the bass without pushing the volume.

RE0 bass is not very impactful, but it extremely detailed! You can hear every single sound in the bass region separated clearly from other sounds, especially on quality recordings of course. It's really amazing how much detail these things put out in the low end. That being said, I much prefer my $300 Ortofon e-Q7 to RE0 for trance, becuase e-Q7 has very detailed bass as well, but more impact than RE0. I think if you are seeking an IEM specifically for trance, dance and other "bassy" music, then RE0 may not be for you. It is indeed not a very punchy IEM. I suggest taking a look at JVC FX500 instead. Should be a very nice IEM in the $100 price range with thunderous bass and good mids and treble too.

If your going to amp or have good Bass Eq on your DAP, the RE0 is certainly worth a go. It does extend very low.
