Hi Eric

Are there any differences between older and newer HE5LE? I saw older with matt black cups and I have newer with slighly mettalic darkviolet cups? Any difference in SQ, efficiency etc? I could listen to it straight from Sony Walkman without amp.

I posted that picture in other thread already:) But of course you cannot hear it. I also spoke a lot with some of my friends about needed power for HP. Conclusion is that you dont need anything very powerful unless you listen to very demanding classical music at very high volumes fo HE5LE.
Thats why I could easily listen to it from my walkman ouput which could give maybe 2V RMS. Not very much but acceptable sound limited by quality of that walkman. Heavy amps are fairytales at least for HE5LE and there are pure and logic facts to prove it.
But my main question is for that colour change of cups and further any other changes inside etc?
Thank you.

I have a question about the HE-6s. What are you're guys' position on hard wiring HE-6s? I (and I'm sure many others) feel that the HE-6s connector into the cup is pretty atrocious and flimsy. So if one were to get their HE-6s hard wire modded, would the warranty still be honored? and if i were to get warranty work done, would i get back the same pair so as to keep the hard wire?

Our standard headphone warranty doesn't cover any unauthorized modification. if a user has done any modification to the headphone driver, the headphone's warranty will be voided. This is standard among industry, so hope you would understand.

Hi guys!

I was hoping to buy the HE-5LEs for christmas, but I heard they are to be discontinued soon.

This is considered a huge shame, as for their price, they are considered (NOTE when properly amped, from power tube amps or mini speaker amps) to be even slightly better than the HE-500.by many head-fiers around here.

Will these HE-5LEs be available until the end of the year/Christmas?

Thanks!
Best regards, Luke

Just a little petition for you guys to bring back the Jades or perhaps develop a 'stat of your own: http://www.head-fi.org/t/634495/petition-bring-back-the-he-audio-jades
I feel there's definitely some demand for it. Much more than there was in the past.

Trust us we know. It's probably not going to happen very soon, but it's in the plan. That's all I am allowed to say right now unfortunately.

The current HE-300 comes with silver cable. The one before it came with Canare copper cable in black color. Hope this helps.

is the cable the only change between versions?
