I own t e D7000,701,840,1001,RX900 and also own Magneplanr MMG/ I would audition it in the same system with my present cans and the Maggie's. I am in NJ and am in if you so choose. I have heard most hi-end headphones (everything but the most recent headphones) in the last 5 years of going to meets, and have a good idea of what I look for in a headphone.
 
equipment: I don't have a high end speaker amp, but have a fairly nice Denon speaker amp, and my SOHA headphone amp, which handles hard to drive phones nicely.  Other headphones are in my sig, Fostex orthos and I've heard a few other orthos and have a few more coming my way as we speak

 
I could also take some beautiful pictures of them with good lighting in my studio.

Hi, I would love to try the HE-6 out of my Alesis RA100 power amp, if possible (45W per channel into 8 Ohms, but with dual volume pots) or try the HE5LE from my EF5 to compare with my original HE-5. I have a Matrix Mini-i DAC that I think would do them justice as a source component. I feel that my gear is quite capable even though it's not really top end. I do love the ortho sound from my setup and am very interested to see how much better it can get.
 
Besides the HE-5, my other headphones include the Grado SR325is, Sennheiser HD600, and AKG K701.

Not interested in reviewing the HE6 cans, but wondering if my amp would qualify as a speaker output?  It is a vintage (early 1980s) Nikko 220w amp.  Laugh if you must, but it works driving my speakers.

Just in case my EF-5 does not optimally match with an HE 6, I can also test it with my Mcintosh preamp & amp, as well as my VAC preamp and VTL amp.

I would be using a HotAudio DAC -> Travagan's Red amp (5W via the speaker outs)
I have pair of Concept CE-H and Realistic Pro 30 isodynamic headphones, Audio Technica ATH-2, as well as a set of DIY SFI-based headphone. I do have a pair of Fostex T20v2 isodynamics, but they're non-functional at the moment.

The HE-6 has nearly the same efficiency as the K1000, so if you have an amp that worked well with the K1000, it should work well with the HE-6 as well.
