What happened to the HE500s?!  Where did they go?!  Hifiman, what have you done?!  
 
Seriously, with no exclamation points, what happened to them?  I don't see anything in the new hifiman lineup that compares sonically.  The 500s were competitive with the LCD2 on the low-end, creating an especially stunning bass response when paired with the Digizoid Zo.  
 
I sold mine a year or two ago, thinking that my life would still be complete without them.  I was wrong.  Anyone know what they were replaced with?  Or have any suggestions for someone who has been out of the head-fi game for a few years?

The next closest thing from them is probably stepping up to the 560, as the 400i is a little on the thin side down low. I bet there's a good used market, too, which could work with a pad change.
