Has anyone watched something just because it was in HD? If so what? I'm not a baseball fan but since it's the only decent thing on in HD here I am watching it.

I actually only watch TV, if its in HD. I have 10 HD channels, and about 95 normal channels.

I dont turn the tv on ever, but I will turn it on, for HD, only because I am enjoying something with great detail and whatever the programming is, is 2nd

speaking of baseball, go Oakland, the door is almost closed

Whenever I turn on our nice new 40" LCD HDTV, I usually immediately go to the discovery channel. They generally have interesting programming, and there seem to be fewer commercials. The nature shows are always cool to watch in HD.

I find myseld watching a lot of Discovery HD which I normally wouldn't watch. Also I'm not a sports fan but there is something about watching it in HD though. I also watched Narnia in HD the other day eventhough I didn't really care for the movie because the HD transfer of it is spectacular...particularly the battle scene.

I've a very hard time watching anything, but HD programming so now my options are limited to say the least. I sometime venture back to the standard digital channels and huff a bit under my breath at times because of the blurry picture quality.

HD is definitely has a magnetic personality

It'll probably get even worse once DirecTV launches those other 100 HD channels.

I would watch just about anything on HD when I first got it.... I'd watch instects for HOURS if there was a show on. A whole new experience. As you mentioned, I am not a baseball fan, but it looks awesome in HD. College football especially! The down side is that it is hard to watch something that is not in HD on a 52". I looks plain awful!

I absolutely adore HD material--even though I don't have any form of cable or satellite. Instead, I got an ATSC OTA tuner for those free hi-def broadcasts. Oh yeah! Now both Gregory House AND Jack Bauer are looking better than ever.

When I first got my Yamaha LPX-500 projector a couple months ago I was addicted to anything HD. I'm over it now though. The difference isn't as big as I thought it would be, however my PJ only does 1280 X 720 so I dont get the full 1920 x 1080.

I notice a huge difference when watching NFL Football, I've flipped between the same game in SD and HD and not only do you see more of the field it looks like someone cleaned the lens of the camera.

Ya I know what you mean. Until you switch back to SD for some reason, and then back to HD, you can then remind yourself.

No cable company shows HD in 1920by1080, so we will have that to look forward to in about 5 to 7 years. But will it be much of in increase? Not SD to HD, thats for sure. I havnt seen 1080p on HD-DVD so I cant compare

I just purchased a new LCD HDTV and decided to stick with the 720p instead of paying extra for the 1080p since I figured that by the time 1080 broadcasting/media was readily available, I would be ready to buy a new TV! I did see a demonstration of BluRay technology - very, very nice indeed, but very little available for it as yet, and I wasn't ready to buy both a new DVD player and a new screen.

I love watching football on the HD channels, and shows on the Discovery HD channel are also very good. I just wish there were a whole lot more HD channels available here in my area. I am somewhat addicted to the SciFi channel, which unfortunately is stuck in SD land, so I do still watch SD broadcasts - and long for HD instead.

Next year, they're reported to launch about 150 National channels. They're trying to focus on getting most of the local channels in most areas in HD by the end of this year.

I once watched a taco eating contest simply because it was in HD.
