HD850 stock cables vs HD650 cables

I was on the sennheiser parts webiste looking at replacement cables and I noticed that the stock HD580 cable with the red and black plugs was more expensive ($17.93) than the stock HD650 cable ($11.62) I wanted to know the reason for the higher price. Is the stock HD580 cable better then the 650 cable? I know many people like to buy the 650 cable to use with their 580 because they believe it sounds better.

no, the HD580 stock cable sucks. it may just be a case of low supply, high demand = higher price

Yea, thats what I was thinking, though it still doesn't make much sense

The cables are same (conductors), 650 have thicker insulation, different connectors, 1/4 jack.
