Hello i was thinking about buying the HD6XX headphones, i currently have the dt990 pros, but the plastic sliders have already cracked in half once i recently replaced them and i can already see them cracking again, ive had them for 4 years now and figured id buy something new. My question is what kind of amp would i need to power them i currently have the Fiio e10k would that be sufficient enough to power the HD6XX to an enjoyable listening level?

As far as volume goes, it's plenty, but you'll probably want better electronics somewhere down the line.
With that amp/dac would i notice a quality increase with the HD6XX over DT990 pro? Im not the best when it comes to knowing about audio equipment what would you recommend to power the HD6XX and is there something affordable to power it

Haven't heard the DT 990, but I did own the DT 880 Edition (aka Premium) 600 ohm and think the HD 650 (basically the same headphone as the HD 6XX) sounds better in an obvious way.
The Schiit Magni 3 amp would be what many audiophiles would recommend to you for $100. But then you'd need to either use a dedicated DAC or connect your computer's headphone output to the amp via a 3.5 mm to dual RCA cable.
I went from high-end DACs to the $30 Behringer UCA202 audio interface. (Just for the time being.) It's my recommendation for a decent DAC to start with to connect to a dedicated amp.

Sound quality: absolutely not
Is there not a stronger slider option for the DT990 pros? thats basically the only reason im looking for new headphones they keep breaking and are 45$ for pieces of plastic for replacements
Not
Not sure.Is there not a stronger slider option for the DT990 pros? thats basically the only reason im looking for new headphones they keep breaking and are 45$ for pieces of plastic for replacements
Or is there any other headphones in the 200$ or less range that would work well with the e10k amp/dac, just seems like for the money the HD6XX is really good
Save up your money a bit more, the e10k only powers up 32 ohms which most headphones dont require amping.Or is there any other headphones in the 200$ or less range that would work well with the e10k amp/dac, just seems like for the money the HD6XX is really good
the e10k seems to power my 250 ohm dt990s pro extremely well so idk

That's not how it works. The listed maximum output power at 32 ohms is 200 mW. At other input impedances, it will have different output power specs. The Schiit Fulla has the same spec at 32 ohms, and it can output up to 40 mW at 300 ohms. It got very loud with the HD 650. The E10K should be similar. The Magni 3 can output up to 430 mW at 300 ohms, so it has considerably more headroom.

I did say that the hd650 goes loud in the comments but as far sound quailty, not suprising. I misinterpreted a bit back there. That's not how it works. i technically have a budget of 350$ i can spend but i just want replacement headphones for the dt990 pro that dont break
Ok so another question since my e10k probably isnt the best for the HD6XX i was looking on massdrop and saw they had basically the same deal but the HD58X from what i understand is the hd600? Do you think that would be the better option for me currently, seems it has less Impedance
