I just bid on some 650s in OK condition, a bit scratched/dented but nothing serious. I wasnt really expecting to win the bid and just sort of bidded in a rush in the last few seconds. I'm now sort of wondering whether I should have or not. I could always just tell the seller I made a mistake.

I currently have some Sony mdr-10rbt bluetooth headphones I bought a few years ago and enjoyed the sound improvement and now use them wired with a dragonfly black (although Im not sure I can hear a difference or if its a placebo, but that's another story...). How much of a sound improvement should I expect if I get them? I know the sound signature will be different, but I can get used to that.

By the way, I know that I need an amp but I'll use them with the headphome output on my Sony av surround receiver that should be powerful enough to try them out, although I don't know the specs of the headphone output, but I did hear a difference with my sonys plugged into it(a bit warmer and less harsh if I was to describe it)

If they aren't beat up too bad I think it is a pretty good price. From what a lot of people say AVR's can be a little hit and miss with some cans. Mine can make them loud enough but haven't spent a lot of time listening as that would take a long cable and I have other amps so....

Well it wouldnt be a permanent solution, but it may not be powerful enough because I used my sonys(35 ohms) at about 50-70 percent, although I'm not sure if that means it will be 10 times quieter or if it's based on its ability to drive a higher resistance.
