Hello!
After lurking around here, I have decided to sign up and ask this question.
I am going to get HD650, and I have been looking for possible combinations to have it composing-ready and well driven.
Generally, I was thinking of:
HRT Music streamer II> Matrix M-stage> HD650.
But since I am wanting it for orchestral composing, then I would be needing ASIO. Take note that I will only be doing it for playback.
therefore, the combinations I thought of are:
Komplete 6 Audio interface> Matrix M-stage> HD650.
Asus Xonar Essense ST> Matrix M-stage> HD650.

I just don't know what would work best, if none at all. Therefore, I am asking if would any of these work well, and if there are other options, then what would they be?

Audio-GD NFB-15.32 external DAC/Amp, $255+shipping.
Dual WM8741 DAC chips and a headphone amplifier that drives my 600-Ohm headphones.
Comes with USB S/PDIF (optical & coaxial) inputs, so plugs straight into a motherboard.
So no need for Essence ST or Matrix M-stage or Komplete

Wouldn't an op-amp with an Ohm greater than what the headphone needs damage it over time?

The headphones are driven by voltage and current, not Ohms (impedance)
The 15.32 headphone output has an impedance of 2-Ohms.

Alright, I went through what you've recommended. The specs are great, but I don't see anything that mentions the ASIO driver?

I would assume any ASIO would come with whatever program you are using.
Like With the program Foobar2000, it an add on component.
