Does hd600 replacement cable sounds better than original cable?
I don't belive sound improvement by power cable but somewhat belive in good interconnector though I have not used many interconnector. I could distinguish difference between $1, $20 and $100 interconnectors.
I wonder more expensive hd600 cable can improve sound.
If so, which brand cable is better?
Please answer.
Thanks.

If you do a search here there are lots of opinions on the different replacement cables available. These days the prevailing notion is that the Cardas cables are the best. I personally bought the Cardas cables not so long ago and found it to be a substantial improvement. Really opens up the sound. Lot more detail and transparent. If you can hear differences with interconnects you'll definitely hear a difference with these cables.

There's a review in this forum (full review) comparing the Clou Red, Stefan, and Cardas.

Generally I think the Clou Blue/Red are regarded as 2nd tier, compared to the Stefan and Cardas, which are more expensive but are preferred over the Clous

I get the same impression. But even so, there are applications in which the Clou has it's uses (e.g., to slightly "hype" a sound).

I'm a musician who's damaged his hearing (tinnitus, mostly) due to excessive practice and loudness of the violin.

The difference is quite substantial, and honestly is the best purchase you can make if you already own and like the HD600. It's going to really boost the performance of the senns to the point where you almost think it's a new sennheiser headphone!

Cheers,

Gotta remember to use those practice mutes.

I wouldn't say that the difference is that great. It will just refine your HD600, not create a completely different headphone.

BTW, you should do a search on the Cardas cables, Equinox cable and Clou cable. You will turn up many good discussions.

Just as a heads-up,
http://www.moon-audio.com --> Interconnects
will soon release a replacement cable for the HD580/600. I'm not sure, but it may have an 8 conductor braid of silver wire like their Silver Dragon interconnects. Or it may have a variation of that geometry. We'll have to wait and see.

Quick, somebody email them and get the scoop!

It's not the personal practice which kills me, it's the huge symphony I was in and the music we play (stuff like Holsts's Mars is some of the loudest music ever written for symphony).

Ahh, Holst's The Planets. Nice. For me, any time I play the violin, whether during practice or orchestral setting, I develop this slight tinnitus in my left ear, very slight, but unfortunately always there. Using a practice mute always helps. Anyway, nice to have another fellow violinist on board.

PS: Wow, you're concertmaster? Quite an achievement. I'm "assistant concertmaster" who should be concertmaster

. Wait, you're in some loser town in Montana called Bozeman? I retract that statement.
