Hi all,

I'm having trouble deciding on my next headphones. So, here's the deal, my Sennheiser HD598 started suffering from that distortion problem, that seems to be common, so they had to go. Now, I have a max budget of 300€ and I have to make the purchase at Amazon.es. I will be using them for music, movies and some gaming and the headphones will be plugged into a Creative X-Fi Titanium HD soundcard.

At the moment I'm between the Sennheiser HD600 and the Philips Fidelio X2.

What is your take on the issue?

Thank you all in advance!

The mysteries of pricing across different markets... the HE-400SS is only $289 on Amazon.com vs over $300 usually for the HD600, while the X2 is currently $220 as I write this.

OK, since the HE-400S is not an option, here's a word of advice: the HD600 is known to scale very well as front end gear improves, so choose the HD600 as a longer term investment if you eventually plan on upgrading your source. Otherwise, if you want a more "fun" sound signature or want a headphone that isn't as dependent on source, go with the X2.

Thanks for the replies...

So, everyone kinda agrees that at this price point the HD600 or de X2 are the best options, right? Also, if I go with the HD600s, what decent amp can I get @ Amazon for under 100€?
