Am I the only one using the the new OMX 90 earbuds from sennheiser? These things are nothing short of remarkable! If you are an avid Jazz/Classical or Pop listener, the detail and soundstage (that's right, I said SOUNDSTAGE) that come out of these tiny things is an engineering marvel. Before I bought these earphones I was using the B&O A8's because I thought that they had the best sound for an earbud (not IEM's). However when these senns came out, while I thought $90 was steep, I love the brand and I was intrigued by the build quality and the styling. That being said, When I first plugged them in and played some R&B (New Monica album) I was alarmed because the bass was distorted and the sound was horrible! But then I turned on "Take Five" by David Bruebeck and almost jumped out of my chair when I heard the clear distinct sound of each individual instrument spread out across a soundstage! I gave up a long time ago looking for earbuds to provide a soundstage, but with these tiny buds I could hear the piano realistically reproduced out in front along with the drum and cymbal sounds off to the side! I said to myself "I do not believe this!" They have scaled down the 595's sound and put it in an earbud! I couldn't believe it, so I put on "A Taste of Honey" by Peggy Lee, and lo and behold I heard Peggy out front singing to me, along with drummer off to one side gently tapping his brushes on the drum, and the horn playing on the other side...Am I the only one who has heard this? Incredible! While the A8's have a little more low end, and are more efficient, (meaning they play louder) they do not provide the detail and soundstage that OMX90's do. A lot of people will not be able to appreciate these buds, but if you are looking for a truly hi-fi sound in a small package please give these a listen.

To be balanced in my review, there are a few negatives that I need to site: One is the fact that these buds have a 65 ohm impedance, compared to other earbuds and IEM's which have a 15-16 Ohm Impedance. This means that often you have to turn the volume almost all the way up on your DAP to get a good volume level. Also because these hook on your ears similar to the B&O A8's and they are not fully articulated like the A8's some people may have a problem with fit. Lastly, these buds have sound modeled on the 555/595 full-size phones, so they have a sound that is quite laid back. Therefore they do not do a good job with a lot of the modern music. (Hip Hop, Dance etc.)

I have not been able to take these things out of my ears during the last couple of weeks and I had to talk about them!
