I'm re-terminating my HD595s to have a 3.5mm plug. The cable is cut, and the wires are ready for tinning, however, the wires will not tin...solder will not make contact with them; it just rolls off. I noticed the HD595 wires have small fiber inside with the wire. I am using radioshack rosin core solder. HELP

This can be a big problem ....

EDIT: I noticed that the solder Sennheiser used on their plug cools very quick. Could this be my problem?

Would using a lighter work?

I don't see why not... I have always just used a razor blade and drag it across the wire almost flat and not cutting into the wire... just a light scraping motion about 4 or 5 times, worked for me... anything that will get the paint off the wire is good... if you try the lighter, let me know how good it works

Well, a razor is more convenient. I'll do that now. Gosh, I was super worried...and still am :P
