Well I received my first audiophile Headphones ever; hd595s a week ago, and since then they have really grown on me (wasn't really that impressed originally TBH) either because of break-in, or because my ears have become accustomed to them. I also spoilt myself and bought an x-fi xtrememusic to accompany it. I'm now starting to hear quite audible crackle in parts of most songs (FLAC & mp3) which is really getting to me . There does not seem to be a correlation with loudness and thus I doubt it's clipping. I tried the headphones on my old audigy se card & different software, and I still get the same crackling so i do not think it's the source (unfortunately i don't have a dedicated audio source to try this on). I also doubt it's grattle because it's happening on both sides; and I've tried the "sucking" solution too.

Any help appreciated!

For those who want to know at what points this crackle appears try: System of a Down - Tentative, time: 2:49-3:20 for example

OK, this is wierd.... I tried the music with KSC75s I just got, and the crackling is still there. Seems to me like this this crackling is due to the quality of my music. But then again this crackling happens with flac lossless files? Looks like I'll need to go whip out the few CDs I have.

Have you tried with regular CDs? It may be poor copies/rips/downloads (if illegal then shame on you

) of the tracks causing the crackling, i.e artifacts. Have you tried the headphones with a different source?
