I was on the sennheiser parts webiste looking at replacement cables and I noticed that the stock HD580 cable with the red and black plugs was more expensive ($17.93) than the stock HD650 cable ($11.62) I wanted to know the reason for the higher price. Is the stock HD580 cable better then the 650 cable? I know many people like to buy the 650 cable to use with their 580 because they believe it sounds better.

I'm pretty sure the HD-650 cable is just the cable, and does not include the 1/4 to mini adapter. The adapter is a seperate part number for like $5. Whether the HD-650 cable sounds better or not, it is MADE better for sure. Well worth the few bucks.

It looks like the HD580 is only the cable too, it just seems to cost more.
