HD580 + Amp???

Hi all,

I just got a pair of Senn. HD580's... wow, they are fantastic! Up to about 3am listening to my favourite tracks.

Can anyone suggest a good Amp to match these headphones, I have a Sony 930 series CD player and want to spend no more than 250 USD.

PS I listen to rock, pop and classical, and whilst I don't want my music too relaxing I also don't want it too bright or fatiguing.

HI: How are you? The silver lance cables are still breaking in. I will break them in for 50 hours each. But even though they are breaking in they make my room more beautiful for they are so good looking. LOL

I've got a meta42 built by JMT. Sounds great! Sounds even better if you take out the foam inserts to me. MUCH better. However, if you like the boomy bass that the 580 gives, leave the inserts in. Some have also commented that removing the barrier between the drivers and your ear causes the background to become muddy, but my experience is exactly the opposite.

I gave up on things looking good when I bought my HD280's

HI: When the silver are burn in I have nothing to compare them to. I gave my other cables away. And the amp is also new so I will have no idea if its the amp or if its the cables that sound good. I believe in JMT and he told me the cables were really good better than most so I will just assume that once the cables are burn in that they will sound great as the amp will sound great. I ant into comparing things much anymore. I just wont great sound. LOL When I compare stuff I get all kind of rumbles from members so if I just tell the members how something sounds I think I am better off. So if my super mini amp and silver lance cables sound great together that will be just fine for me. I really don't care why it sounds great. I will assume its a combination of both. I hope this makes sense.
