HD579 or continue waiting for deal on 598/599?

Currently have an M40X but I need an open back because I need to be able to hear my surroundings now. I will be using this to replace my M40X for all my everyday needs like music and gaming. I'm not a bass head but I do at least want some bass so I guess I want a 'neutral' sound like the M40X? I don't really know that much about audio so I'm sorry about that.

Right now I can get a 579 for $107 which isn't far off from its lowest recorded price of $99. The 598/9 are both $180 (with tax) with lowest recorded prices of $108 and $136 which I'm alright in spending but I don't know when I'll be able to see that price again.

What would you recommend I do?

So they came in today and idk if it's because I'm not used to it but they sound really muddy (or is muffled the right term?). Again I don't know jack crap about audio but my M40X in contrast sounds very clear. The 579 sounds nice with music but in videos/games it just sounds really muffled. Should I continue using this for a week?

edit: After doing the foam mod it seems to be a lot more clear. Liking it a little bit more now
