HD570s.

Are you looking for a close kind? I personally like the open kind. More comfortable and allows your ears to breath better. Better for wearing for long periods of time.

I haven't had a chance to listen to those [HD495], I did listen to the HD 500 which sounded real nice. Around the same price. A Crunchfield.com their $80 with 10 rebate and crunchfield is an authorised dealer so you get the full warranty. My father is planing on getting a pair. He seemed to loved those. I prefered the HD580's, there out of his price rang and somewhat in mine.

Originally I wanted the 570's over the 580's and 590's maily for looks. Seening them all inperson. The photos don't do them justice. 580's look real nice as well as sound fantastic. 500 looked real nice too. Both looked better (in my opinion) then the 570's in person.

I own a pair of HD570. They are bright and fatiguing. The mid-range feels a little recessed and the bass seems bloated. The bass is not as deep in comparison to the HD590, HD580, or HD600. They are good for classical music.

However, they are very comfortable headphones. I think they are more comfortable than the HD580. If you can, I would get the HD590 instead. The HD590 has deeper and more accurate bass in comparison to the HD570. The treble from the HD590 is not as shrilly as the HD570.

I agree with all of these.. though, I LOVED my 570s, up until I started listening to something much better... now going back, I can hear where they lack. That's how it always works as you climb the quality ladder though... it's hard to look back.

I have to agree on comfort.. they are THE most comfortable headhpones I've ever owned.. easily worn for 12+ hours. I often leave them on even once the music ends for a couple hours while working, simply because I don't realize they are there.

Not sure what you meant by your original comment... the 570s are not closed cans. They are open. Don't expect any sound isolation.. the over-ear design is for comfort only.

I tried the 570s and 590s side by side and their was no comparison for me, the 590s blew them out of the water in every way, save for comfort, in which they both exelled equally. Having heard the 580s and 600s and having them grow on me after just a few hours, I'm gonna stick to the 590s. The difference between the upper three really didn't seem to me to be as big as people let on. I thought that if the 600s had just a little bit more kick and life, than they would be really great for me. Enter the 590s.

ON quality, no question. 590s rock on the 570s.. I'm in no way saying they can compete. I'm saying I was very happy with them until I moved up to something better.

I still maintain the 570s are the most comfrotable though

i thought the 570's felt entirely too weird on my head vs the 590's (which i now have thanks to that little 500/570/590 comparison i did at hi-fi buys, they didnt have 580's out, so i dunno there) but they are all fairly comfy in their own right.
