My venerable old Sennheiser HD545 were getting a bit "thin" up top (the foam on the replacement headband was pretty much kaput). I was trying to figure out how to replace the foam, when I had an idea... I don't like foam pillows, I like feather pillows! I don't like foam comforters, I like.. (you guessed it!), feather comforters. Well, I thinks...
Fast forwards a few hours. My heaphones are in pieces, the dilapidated remains of the foam are dusted about my room, and one of my old feather pillows is being stabbed, "Psycho" style. Feathers flying everywhere, I managed to get enough down from the pillow into the headband (and on it, and around it) to make some sort of support. A bit of sloppy sowing, and my beast was complete!
How does it feel? Pretty good! It's definitely more comfortable than the non-existent foam, once I got rid of the bits poking out... I wonder if anyone else will be silly enough to try this, or if I will be the only one plumping up my headphones before I put them on
