Hi,

I have owned HD540's for some time. They are very comfortable - but I do feel they are lacking in some way (these are my only pair of headphones that I have owned).

I use them for gaming (America's Army yeehawww

) as well, and I don't find them particularly great.

I was reading this forum, and saw others who recommended the ATH-A900 as a good gaming can.

Is it worth the upgrade from HD540 to ATH-A900?

I guess 540s are a bit bright for gaming, plus A900s are known to work very well there. So the A900 would probably be a worthwile upgrade. Do keep your 540s for music though (maybe get them some new pads if required), with some EQ they still are excellent.
