HD30GB9 with an amp?

How does it sound with an amp? Any difference? Is it like the best sound ever? Does it not make a difference at all since it has a built in amp? Im thinking to buy this, or an 80gb imod...?

I got another question..If I run of of space, on a 30gb 1.8 hdd, is it possible to just replace it with another 1.8 hdd 60gb or 100gb in the HD30GB9 and it recognizing the hdd?
