Aren’t the pads the same as the regular HD25-1 leather pads? In any case they are surely not real leather, but a good imitation. I am sure such pads would fit the HD25 Alu. By the way, I bought a pair of remplacement pads for my Sennheiser Amperior last week from Sennheiser Canada. No availability problem. These pads are not leather like, more like synthetic suede. I find them more comfortable than leather, which makes my ears humid on hot days. I’m sure these suede like pads would also fit your HD25 alu. These pads are not the same as the suede like pads included in the regular HD25 Pro box as a second spare pair to the leather standard pair on the headphones. The amperior pads are softer, yet more dense than the regular HD25 pads. They seem to be filled with a gel like substance inside the pads. All of these pads must fit your HD25 alu!
Interesting!
I did not know there was another pad on the Amperior. The "original" velour pads ruins the sound for me as they are leaking too much and the bass tightness goes away.
How is the Amperior pads in this regard? I can imagine that the gel like material does not leak sound as much as the standard foam would?

[Edit]
Ok so i just talked to Sennheiser Sweden again and they confirmed that the amperior has another pad than hd25/hd25 alu.
The Amperior pad has artickel number: 549336 and costs 25,67€ (converted from 271 Swedish kronor)
I also asked about the ALU cups as spare parts and they have artickel number: 549339 and costs 211,69€ (converted from 2235 Swedish kronor)

I'll skip the alu cups with that price but i'll soon order some amperior pads to check them out. Will probably make a small review of the different pads since i then have them all.

Talking of which... The 600ohm capsules are currently £24 from Sennheiser. Cheaper than the 70ohm (£35) Add an SP headband (£8) and HD650 cable (£8) plus a spare pair of pads you may have hanging around and you have a pretty cheap headphone (around 65 quid) for home use.

That's what I did anyway!

The "HD25 SP-13"
(with nicely worn "Aluminium" pads)

Presumably 600 Ohm capsules with an SP headband is roughly equivalent to the old BA Concorde IFE headset (or so I’m told)... :L3000:

I think they were 300ohm.i have also had a pair of those. I prefer the standard HD25 to the higher impedence versions. More lively with more impact, more fun. The 600ohm is very refined but a bit veiled for me.

still rocking my made in Germany HD25-13 600ohm semi uber mod.
regret swapped from the original 3m 6.5mm straight plug to the 1.5m right angle micro-phonic cable. Just horrible.
Owned all variants from the 70ohm, amperior to the aluminium. The 600ohm drivers sounds the best. More bass, no sibilant or treble spikes. What's best is the drivers can be drive to high volumes from any consume device.
The amperior/alu cups does improve resonance but the
extra weight isn't worth the trade off. Yes the extra weight causes them to fall off much easier during rigorous exercise but the standard plastic capsules don't no matter how much hard you head bang.
Solution, uber mod plus plastic capsules plus 600ohm drivers :)

Just upgraded my HD25 70ohm to balanced cable to runt with Earstudio ES100. Better separation, a bit more air. It was worth every dollar since it took my HD25 to a new level. Love it!

Hey guys!

One thing that bothered me after two years of owning the amazing hd25 were the signs on the plastic arm. You can see on the right side the used arm. Not a big deal, but my hd25 looks almost new, just the plastic arms looked a bit bad.

So...

...with my surprise I found new plastic arms on the Sennheiser spares website, and they are extremely cheap too! About 2,5 Eur for each arm.
With a screwdriver you need 5 minutes to change them and it’s really an easy task.

I am very happy with Sennheiser spares service, and also with my hd25

This legend vs ATH-M40X?
This legend.

I recently got a pair of m40x to use at work. But as soon as i got home an compared them to my HD25 i realised my mistake and went to return the m40x.
I did't do a side by side compairson but the HD25 sounded overall a little bit better. Slightly more clarity and separation and a more well defined, tighter bass.

Also for me with glasses the HD25 is much more comfortable since it's on-ear rather than around-ear which sits right on my glasses.

You seriously cant go wrong with HD25 in my opinion. They have that neutral-ish tuning with a little bit more punch in the mid-bass which makes metal, EDM, hiphop etc really enjoyable to the point where im always baning my head or taping my feet :D
They will also hold up well over the years and are built like a tank unlike the m40x. The HD25 have been industry standard for monitoring over 15 years (if not 20??) and keeps going and going.
[Edit] My bad, they were released 1988 which makes them 31 years old and still going strong to this day.

How do the hd25 compare to the dt1350 in terms of sound, comfort and durability?

I could write you a long and boring answer, I will save you time and money: just get yourself the HD25!

...and then put the Yaxi pads on it.

I can't recommend the Yaxi pads since they ruin the sound. Best you can do, in my opinion is to get the HD25 Amperior pads. I'm gonna do a write up on the different pads since I have them all but I'm far away from home atm.

You can order them through a local seller for Sennheiser with no extra charge. I paid about €16 for mine.

Amerior pads artikel number: 549336
